Why coat an island car
A ceramic coating creates a slick, sealed surface over your clear coat. Salt film, ferry grime, and bugs have far less to hold onto, washing gets much easier, and the gloss holds through a full season of sun.
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the Daily Driver and Dream Car both include a paint enhancement first — the gloss comes up before anything gets sealed. If the paint has swirls or scratches that need real correction, we'll say so and quote it separately.
Hydrophobic means water-repelling. A ceramic coating creates a slick, sealed surface, so rain and hose water bead up and roll off instead of sitting on your paint. Dirt and salt have far less to hold onto, and washing gets much easier.
We recommend a maintenance wash every four to six weeks, and a decontamination service once a year to keep the coating performing the way it did on day one. We'll let you know what your specific coating needs.
No coating is indestructible. Ceramic adds a hard, sacrificial layer that resists light marring, chemical etching, and UV fade, but it won't stop rock chips or a shopping cart. Think of it as strong protection, not armor.
The coating fills and levels the microscopic texture in your clear coat, so light reflects more evenly. The result is deeper color, sharper reflections, and a gloss factory clear coat can't match on its own.
